In the art of kata & Jitsu one has to perform basic techniques arranged in series, as fluently and perfectly as possible. These techniques are aimed at an imaginary opponent. The purpose of kata & jitsu is to get a better understanding of the techniques.
A kata or jitsu usually begins with an opening ceremony and ends with a closing cermony.
